When Breitling introduced its Chronomat in 1984, it represented a comeback for mechanical Swiss timepieces following the quartz crisis in the 1970s. Today, the Super Chronomat 44 represents a synergy of Breitling's past and the Grenchen maker's bright future – a bold, ultra-capable watch tailored for those in pursuit of the next great adventure.
True to the original Chronomat which was inspired by the Frecce Tricolori, the Super Chronomat's distinctive bezel rider tabs protect the sapphire crystal – and the tabs at 3:00 and 9:00 are interchangeable, enabling the wearer to tailor their bezel for count up, or count-down missions. New for the Super Chronomat, is the extra-bold 44mm case which is topped with a bezel crafted from stainless steel and finished with a ceramic insert.
The Super Chronomat is water resistant to 200 meters, and is powered by the COSC-certified Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, which provides about 70 hours of power reserve. This reference is equipped with a classic Breitling signature: a SuperQuartz-powered UTC module integrated in the Rouleaux 'bullet' bracelet, enabling the wearer to track a second time zone at a glance.
